Colour trends for 2017: What the experts say

Red uPVC casement windows with astragal bars

If you’re looking for a way to add something unique to your home, have you thought about coloured windows? They are a great way to make your home stand out or to match some other colours you like in your home. For years, white seems to have been the only option for uPVC windows but now you can choose almost any colour or a timber effect finish.

If you enjoy keeping up-to-date with colour trends in your home, then let’s see what the experts say on the best colours for 2017.

Pantone have chosen Greenery as their colour of the year; a bright and fresh green tone, it conjures up thoughts of fresh beginnings and nature. Here at Dolphin windows, we have three green window shades for you to choose from; Dark Green, Moss Green and Chartwell Green. Chartwell Green, as a lighter shade, would look especially effective in older or country properties. The idea behind Pantone’s colour was to symbolise new beginnings so would be a great choice to revitalise your home if you need a change. Although many think of this colour as quite bold, in nature green is a neutral colour so therefore could seamlessly bring the outside into your home.

Dulux have selected a grey-blue shade called Denim Drift as their favourite colour for this year. Blue has been a popular colour for both interior and exterior design for a number of years. This shade is Dulux’s way of finding a shade suitable for all areas of the home. A sophisticated and calming colour, blue is present in all aspects of our life and can work alongside a wide range of other colours. Here at Dolphin, we offer Steel Blue, Slate Grey, Silver Grey and Basalt Grey for those trying to recreate this beautiful palette.

Benjamin Moore have picked a deep amethyst purple called Shadow for their 2017 colour. This exciting shade is perfect for those who want to add some drama to their home. Any of our darker shades of window colours would blend perfectly with these types of colours.
